At the North Falls of Stevia Group; a commendable tour on the right of the famous Vinatzer Crack.
First ascent: in July 1998 with Silke Perathoner
In the middle the route is interrupted by an oblique shelf. The lower part crosses grey slabs and cracks with a firm rock. In the upper part the rock is brittle. This part has probably be climbed already in 1933 by Matteo Demetz.
Distance in height of the route: about 350 m
                              Rope pitches: 8
Grade of difficulty: up to 5 th
From the Rifugio Firenze and the Rifugio Telemark you can see the wonderful slabs of the lower part. That’s why I decided to climb this wall. The access is a little difficult but really worthwhile! The upper part has still to be cleaned from some brittle rock but the route could become a classical climbing route. We decided the name of the route at the Rifugio Telemark.
Descent: over the Stevia Alp (quite easy) |
